Thatcher - a non self serving grocer's daughter.

I tried to buy a copy of this book on July 4 (Charter day/Independence Day) from Charter Books, but Charter Books do not serve overseas customers. Charter books are too new, have too high prices, and have yet to sell anything. Thus I am unable to become the Charter Customer of Charter Book. Darn.
I am buying a copy "Memories of Maggie", from another source.
I will be particularly interested in what the book says about Thatcher's younger days in a grocer's shop, where she probably learned to serve the customer's interest, except occassionally when the customer's needs could not be met, and the young Thatcher could shine explaining alternatives.
Thus Thatcher become a World Leader with a non-self-serving frame of mind (I admit to not liking her at the time), unlike many other tyrants for whom self-servingness is a way of life. The Thatcher revolution "chartered" a new way.
Back to Charter Books. So long as other book shops in the neighbourhood sell at normal prices, there is nothing wrong in you selling at tenfold prices, though you may need to make exceptions from time to time.
The writer thinks it will be useful to be able to compare the Thatcher grocer store and things like charter books ... ...

About the Author
Ricky W. Griffin is Distinguished Professor of Management and the Blocker Chair in Business in Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. After receiving his PhD from the University of Houston in 1978, Dr. Griffin joined the faculty at the University of Missouri for three years before moving to Texas A&M in 1981. His research on task design and dysfunctional work behavior has appeared in the Academy of Management Journal, the Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, the Journal of Management, and other outlets. He also served as Editor of the Journal of Management. Ricky has been Program Chair and Division Chair of the Organizational Behavior Division and Program Chair of the Research Methods Division of the Academy, Program Chair and President of the Southwest Academy of Management, and a member of the Board of the Southern Management Association. He is a fellow of both the Academy of Management and the Southern Management Association. Dr. Griffin has taught organizational behavior, human resource management, international management, and research methods at all levels and has won several teaching awards. He is a frequent speaker to executive audiences and is the author of several widely used textbooks. Dr. Griffin was Director of the Center for Human Resource Management at Texas A&M and just returned to the faculty at Mays after 11 years of full-time appointments as Management Department Head, Executive Associate Dean, and Interim Dean. His current research interests include workplace culture, managerial skills development, and decision making during times of crisis.

David D. Van Fleet is a professor Management in the Morrison School of Agribusiness and Resource Management at Arizona State University. He received his Ph.D. in economics and management from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville. He has served as editor of the Journal of Management and the Journal of Behavioral and Applied Management as well as an officer in the Southwest Regional Division of the Academy of Management, the Southern Management Association, and the Management History Division of the Academy of Management. Dr. Van Fleet taught at the University of Tennessee, the University of Akron, and Texas A&M University before moving to Arizona State in 1989. His research interests include workplace violence, management history, and leadership. A well respected author, Dr. Van Fleet has written many successful books, including THE VIOLENCE VOLCANO, WORKPLACE SURVIVAL, CONTEMPORARY MANAGEMENT, BEHAVIOR IN ORGANIZATIONS, and ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR: A MANAGERIAL VIEWPOINT.

I didn't like that this book was infused with quite a bit ...

While I appreciate the massage and the bottom line, I didn't like that this book was infused with quite a bit of judgement. While standing up for his beliefs, he ended up shaking the finger at those who belong to the opposing political party and/or prefer to practice traditional Christianity. I think the beauty in Progressive Christianity is that you embrace of everyone, regardless of their beliefs and how they interpret or do things.

An excellent discussion of Progresssice Faith

Many American Christians think the Name Progressive Christianity is an oxymoron. They equate faith with rigid certainty and a marriage to the political ideals of the religious right. Jarrod does a great job, in simple language of showing that Progressive Christians approach scripture with honor, and all people with the Love of Jesus Christ. This is an excellent book to give Progressive Christians support in their life of faith. It is also a great book for conservative Christians to realize that contrary to some voices out there, progressive Christians are brothers and sisters in Christ. This book goes a long way to helping everyone understand what Progressive Christianity is about and the love that motivates these Christians. Progressive Christians, as seen in this book, are not seeking to undermine scripture, they are seeking to fully live out the principles they see in its pages. Often the debate between Conservatives and Progressives is over confessions of faith. This book should help all of us see that living an authentic faith, following the teaching of Jesus Christ is a bridge from the church to the rest of the world. So whether you are a progressive Christians seeking to strengthen your faith, a conservative Christians seeking to understand your brothers and sisters in Christ, or someone trying to understand how to move forward in your own Christian life, I recommend Jarrod's book wholeheartedly.

I am a Christian pastor an writer who believes in the inspiration of scripture, The Trinity, the incarnation and deity of Christ, the inspiration of Paul, special creation, and the ongoing work of the holy Spirit, I hold to pretty much complete Nicene Christianity, yet I also believe that the love of Christ compels me to act out of love toward those in need, divorce myself from political ideologies, and work toward unity with all men. I am a libertarian who find the actions of both political parties abhorrent and believe Christians need to be a prophetic voice against politics, not a driving force behind it. Jarrod's book is one a would recommend to my theological conservative allies as well as my socially liberal co-workers in the faith. It is an easy read, not a large academic treatise on the subject, but opens a space to understand Christians with a Progressive Faith.

excellent introduction to the Progressive Christian movement

through personal experiences, biblical study, and analysis of current events, Rev. Cochran takes readers along as he discovers and embraces the ideals of Progressive Christianity. In my opinion it is a great intro to the movement, and it is endorsed by many of the movements well known leaders like Bart Campolo. If you are one of those people who has been 'left out' by traditional Christianity, perhaps this book can introduce you to a new group of Christians who feel the same way you do.

Great work by the author,of the many good things, its the real life like depictions that makes this book a joyful read.One can actually potray themselves on the Bike enjoying the rides in the different parts of India, Not to forget the wonderful chai!!! I actually was glued to the book and finished it in 2 days on my Subway journey to work.Wish there were more books like this.

This book was a wonderful read that encompassed so much laughter, adventure and real India in each chapter. The author took me on a journey of India that made me want to go and travel the roads myself and seemed to give me an inside look into real India. A must read for all those interested in exploring the beautiful country of India. The stories told by the author made me laugh and keept me reading to see what adventure he would have next. I loved the book and hope to get to read more from Rishad Saam Mehta.

Solid Read

This was a pretty solid read for me. It was interesting enough to hold my attention and really well written. There was underlying conflict that built in such a subtle way, I was not bombarded with inauthentic or "over the top" drama. Everything was really believable and for me that's always a plus. The characters were so relatable that I became sucked in and just wanted to learn more about them. It really gets boring for someone who reads daily, to read about the same plots and subplots in this genre. K.C. Mills finds a way to reinvent the "typical" urban novel involving drugs, d-boys and sex in a way that's never boring. Over the past few months I have found myself reading more of this author's work and she has become one of my "go to authors". What does that mean? It simply means that I'm now on the look out for her new releases and I purchase or download them immediately without reading the synopsis or reading a sample(I no longer need to). I have yet to be disappointed, so not only would I recommend this novel, I'd recommend all of her other work as well.

It took me a minute to warm up to Logic and Joy's relationship. I'm not sure why because normally I fall completely in love with KC Mills characters. However once I jumped all the way in I was good. As always the writing was stellar and the fact that Logic genuinely tried to give up the street life to appease his family and friends was commendable. I see that we are in store for a juicy part 2. I love Karma as Joys best friend. Every girl needs a friend like this when you take life too seriously and become afraid to love like Joy. I can't wait to see what's next for this cast of characters. All I can say is Joys mama has an old fashioned butt whooping with her name on it and it will be well deserved. Kudos Ms. Mills please don't make us wait too long for part 2.

Joy mama is worthless, Myesha is a dumb pest, and I hope Rah trifling self gets what's coming to him. Everybody got Joy and my boo Logic messed up. I love me some Logic but I must admit that baby got a few communication issues. Lol the important part is that he's loyal, faithful, and loving. Everything else can be worked through. Love it! Anticipating more from this author.

This is a Rip Off. All he talks about is contacting Clubs like Kiwanis and offering to do my shows for Free. This is not what he advertises. After reading it through, I felt that I was misled. Every other Kindle book that I have bought I have been happy with as they all had in their what they offered. This book tels you that you can book all these shows immedialtey! He doesn't said that you are supposed to offer them for Free. This Does Not work!

Decided to take a chance on this e-book and see what I could learn. Very easy formula for getting yourself in the public eye of those people that do have the ability to hire you, no matter what level you currently are at.
